Designed for wet and snowy surfaces in extreme weather conditions, Competus Winter offers 4x4 and SUV drivers a controlled drive based on the traction and comfort of their vehicle. Standard compounds cannot maintain the contact of the tire with the ground when the vehicle passes through the layers of water formed on the road surface.
Thanks to the hollow structure of the high-silica compound in Competus Winter, the tread area passes through layers of water and snow and keeps the tire flexible even at low temperatures.
In addition, Competus Winter's shovel patterns have groove and channel structures designed to increase the adhesion surface and drain large amounts of water quickly. With these features, it received high scores in the performance evaluation test conducted by TÜV SUD in January 2010 for the criteria of "Braking distance", "Snow grip" and "Wet traction".
